The World Central Kitchen Murders, As Told in Newspaper Clippings
The clippings tell the real story, even when the papers don't.
Sometimes we have to connect the dots ourselves. In a very real sense, the murder of the World Central Kitchen volunteers is linked to last week’s Washington Post story:
“… have not been disclosed publicly.” The public doesn’t support what the president is doing, so he’s do it in secret now. That’s democracy?
We’re told that Mr. Biden very unhappy with Israel’s government. If you think “more than 1,800 MK84 2,000-pound bombs” and”500 MK82 500-pound bombs” say otherwise — well, Israel clearly thinks so, too. Flash forward a week or so:
Well, now, let’s not jump to any conclusions. Maybe Israel didn’t think it had carte blanche from the United States to do whatever it wants. Maybe this was an accident.
Three vehicles, with a mile and half between them. And, “the Israeli military had been informed of the aid workers’ movements.” And, “the convoy was hit multiple times.”
No, it was no accident.
Did you catch that remark about “unintentionally hitting innocent people”? To Netanyahu — the man we’re arming — the children who have been killed, burned, or lost limbs in Gaza aren’t “innocent.” They’re Palestinian.
Or maybe he meant, “unintentionally hitting innocent people.” As opposed to all the innocent people they’re intentionally killing. Who can say for sure? Not the Biden Administration, apparently.
In a press conference with White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, National Security spokesperson John Kirby said this:
Cut to:
“A wholesale declination of humanitarian assistance” was the point. Israel has systematically obstructed aid to Gaza for years. The mass killings of aid workers — 203 so far since last October — is just its latest tactic. And it’s working:
Mission accomplished!
We’re told the president was already hopping mad at Bibi. How did he take this news?
“I’m furious at Mr. Capone for his killing spree but I’ll keep sending him those tommy guns anyway …” Does anybody buy this routine anymore?
As for John Kirby’s performance, judge for yourself.
Which brings to mind another American, one of equal profundity:
These people are embarrassing themselves. But, to be fair, Kirby and the Press Secretary did treat the situation with the gravity it deserves:
Meanwhile, back in Gaza:
His name was Anwar. The baby’s name was Anwar. Please don’t forget him.
18 U.S. Code § 1091 - That's the US domestic law that incorporates the Genocide Convention. We need to find a way to get the Biden Administration charged under this statute. A Writ of Mandamus might be one way. Citizen's arrests? I want to see every protest include signs charging them under this statute. Perhaps that might cause some to think about what might just be waiting for them. Of not now, then when they leave office. Let's encourage them to spend the rest of their term in office with visions of prison bars in their immediate future.
I'm hoping that someone will pick up this statute, a metaphorical baton, and run with it. I'd do it myself, but I'm not in DC, or in Virginia or places where the administration live.
