So sad that most voices of opposition to this unholy slaughter comes from good Jewish men of conscience like Professors Sachs,Wolff and Finkelstein.Eapecially sad on this day that we celebrate our risen Savior who loved the little children.Hate and war needs to be extincted.
It is sad that here in the year 2025, humankind has reverted back to its worse impulses. And it seems the fate for the world right now, really is the hands of a fickle, over-weight, golfing 78 year old man - who has surrounded himself with warhawks - most of whom lack any depth or knowledge of foreign affairs, and only see military force (overt or covert) as a way to resolve their US State problems.
The bitter irony of this, is this mass murder campaign, horrific in all its details, from snipers deliberately targeting children, to the bombing of hospitals, and the (on video) torture of Palestinian prisoners - which the IDF has bragged about - are all echoes of the brutality of the Nazis toward those who were Jewish (but not only Jewish, the disabled, the unfortunate collateral victims, etc) - the same lack of moral understanding that we are all basically human, regardless of skin color or ethnicity or religion. And this basic fundamental value was missing with the Nazis as it is missing with the Israeli Zionists today.
I'm nearing the end of my life. Maybe a decade or two left at best. But so sad to see all this unfolding. The human race had so much promise. But now, it looks as if the species is hurdling toward some kind of dystopic nightmare, if not outright suicidal self-destruction. What was it all about? What was any of this about? Why in the reality we live in, 100,000 kids were born, only to be snuffed out of existence by the Israelis, backed by the US with billions of dollars of weapons, and technical know how? What is this reality we find ourselves in? Jesus dying on the cross, would be nothing compared to the horror now being experienced in GAZA right now.
Thank you, Jamenta. We should all lament the passing of what would seem to be our species. I wrote a poem about it. It was published a couple of years ago. I'll post it here for you. The formatting is lost, but not much I can do about that.
Halfway, Or More
Somewhere between “I’ll just take,”
And cooperate
Halfway between chimp and bonobo
The hominids they come…and go.
Except the one we know the best
The only one who’s left
How long
Till we too are gone?
(Homo habilis, Homo erectus, Homo rudolfensis, Homo neanderthalensis, Homo heidelbergensis, Homo naledi, Homo floresiensis,…. )
We need to think very carefully, seriously, and quite frequently about this. The ball of life is in our court. The more who engage in this, the better chance we have of getting through it. At least that's my thinking.
I realize that the sacrifice that Jesus made esssentially for all mankind is not appreciated by all and is reckoned as insignificant when compared to the satanic crimes against humanity perpetrated by Christ's deniers.I also realize that denial of basic Christian truths is ultimately the source of these abominations which are "winked at" and tolerated by the unbelieving masses many of whom see themselves as enlightened. And I am disgusted by so-called Christians who are silent and seemingly accepting of an ongoing genocide.
Agreed.I just acknowledge the pervasive existence of moral relativism.I have had painful discussions with those that can and do defend some of the most heinous abominations/practices imaginable. At the age of 76 I guess I believe in a more absolute source of ultimate truth.I do agree with your initial response and I guess I made a false assumption.
I am so ashamed of our country's association with a supposed ally. An ally that has previously attacked us. Israel a so-called democracy is committing war crimes and we are allied with them and grant them protection on the world stage. AIPAC's influence ensures that our legislature stays in line along with universities. Kennedy was right all those years ago. AIPAC should be a registered foreign agent.

So. Life goes on. For a little longer.

Not long at all it would seem Joy. And then what?

Excellent reasoned response.Thank you.

I don't think you need to be Christian or even believe in a religion, to find what is taking place deeply wrong and immoral.
