Ryan Grim on US Media's Anti-Palestine Bias
Ta-Nehisi Coates is just the latest target of slanted coverage.
Clip: US Media Should Show Viewers the Real Palestine (w/Ryan Grim)
Ryan Grim of Drop Site News joined me this week to explore the slanted coverage of pro-Palestinian voices in the US. We began by analyzing the false accusations of antisemitism against Rashida Tlaib, amplified by CNN's Jake Tapper and Dana Bash, and laid out the ways that Tapper and Bash violated journalism’s written Code of Ethics. (Yes, there is one!)
We then discussed Tony Dokoupil’s interview with Ta-Nehisi Coates on CBS Mornings, where Dokoupil’s biased questions reflected the continuing unequal treatment of Israeli and Palestinian perspectives.
We ended by discussing Drop Site News’ petition drive, which The Zero Hour has joined. It calls on CBS to send Dokoupil and a camera crew to the Hebron checkpoint and spend some time broadcasting from there. (Tell CBS News: go to Hebron!)
We’re not trying to tell Dokoupil or CBS what to think or say. We’re asking them to broadcast the daily life of Palestinians under occupation so that their viewers can judge for themselves. If Tony Dokoupil still thinks those conditions are defensible after he’s seen them up close—well, that would be a good time to tell his audience why.
(You can sign the petition here.)

Great idea. I signed it. Here's my petition for Pope Francis to go to Gaza, or Hebron would be good as well. Maybe Bethlehem?
The best thing Pope Francis could ever do is to make his stand for peace. He has an opportunity that is unequalled, to say "no" to genocide. He could even go to Beirut, or Teheran, and say, “Not in our name, not on our watch.”
Please sign the petition and share widely.
