"Christmas Sun"

A song for you by RJ Eskow & the Burning Surfboards

I recorded this (rough!) demo for a topical Xmas song about 20 years ago. I played the guitars but everyone else was a busy LA studio player and didn't have time to iron out the kinks, so it's got some mistakes—especially with my weird stops and starts. Hopefully you'll get the idea. (The "Burning Surfboards" is just a name I made up...)

I was going for a Beach Boys type of sound until the producer overdubbed those great, soulful backup vocals, but I still mixed it to sound as if it's coming out of a transistor radio in 1966.

The images are mostly AI with a few news photos thrown in.
